Wow has it really been a year since I wrote a journal here? Yikes - sorry about that folks! I haven't even checked my messages since June!

Aaaaarrrrghhhhhh *cough* *hack* bleugh

Ugh.
I have risen from the dead on Halowe'en to write this journal. I meant to write one last week to talk about the fact that I was going to have a table at Unplugged Expo in Toronto last weekend but I ran out of time and since I've come back I've been horribly sick. It was an amazing weekend - one of the most complete gatherings of the north american cast of Sailor Moon was there and I got to go to the Saturday panel and then go to the signing and speak with each of them (the only one missing was Sailor Mercury - Karen Bernstein) but Sailor Moon (Terri Hawkes), Sailor Venus, Sailor Mars, Sailor Jupiter, even Artemis and Luna and Darien, Sammy (Serena's little brother) and of course Melvin were there - the panel was hilarious and getting to talk to them each afterwards was an amazing experience (even if it was a two hour wait in line...) I got them to sign a VHS copy of the final two episodes of season one that I've had since I was 13 years old as well as my very last 11x17 poster of this image:
Which is a special one for me.
Also over the weekend I debuted a new piece of Sailor Moon fanart - I thought it fit the circumstances well - you can see it here:
It went over very well and I got lots of compliments - as always I'd love to hear from you guys what you think!
On that note that wraps up my con-season for the year so once I'm a bit more lucid and less full of goo (it's taken me two days to write this journal) I'll finish up the couple of commissions I have and then I'll be clearing out a lot of my old prints and putting them up for sale in my storenvy store (super cheap!) along with my buttons, keychains, stickers and magnets. I'll make another announcement when that is finished! I also plan on getting back to work on my webcomic Briar Rose - I'm hoping to have the first issue done for next years con season! Go me!
I hope all of you are well out there in DA land - I apologize again for my neglect - I'll remind you all that if you do have tumblr I am FAR more active over there so feel free to follow me!

The winner of the senshi/shitennou piece is Rei/Jadeite! So, I will start on that once I finish current commission - thanks to everyone who voted!
First off, I had another AMAZING time at ConBravo this year - thank you to everyone who stopped by to get something or just say hi! It was fantastic and the panties were a huge hit! (what panties you ask? Well, I'll be posting them in my online store next week so keep an eye out for that!) I met some amazing artist and people and there may be some very big opportunities coming in the future but I won't say anymore about that just yet! I've also signed up for two more conventions coming this October - I'll make further announcements once my table space is confirmed!
In other news I've been invited to be one of the cover artists for the upcoming Shenshi/Shitennou Ficathon 10th aniversary special so I'm very excited for that (I already have a million ideas bouncing around my head) I'll keep you updated on how that is going!

Toronto Comicon 2013 - the wrap up!

So this past weekend was an absolute blast. Despite all the stress and obstacles over the past week, this con made every minute of it absolutely worth it. I met so many wonderful people, laughed with friends, talked to tons of peers and other talented artist and generally had an amazing time.
Lots of people seemed interested in my new webcomic (expect an announcement within the next 24 hrs) and my Picard piece was a huge hit! This was my most successful con yet and I definitely plan on signing up again next year!
Highlights of the weekend include:
The amazing care package that my friend Craig dropped off for me so I wouldn't starve all weekend! <3
Sitting beside Romantically Apocolyptic
Seeing all my friends including Deena, Adriana, Sarah and Jacob, Keiren, Megan, Sanya, Nicole and Mary and Sammy (aka Zeeky!)
SPAGHETTI FACTORY dinner and laughing until my sides hurt!
Finally sleeping for 8 hours on Saturday night (this hadn't happened in about 4 weeks! XD)
All the lovely compliments I got on my art and the wonderful people who commissioned me for sketches!
So what's next for Angel Creations - well like I said, stayed tuned for some more info about my webcomic, I have a MLP piece in the works and some more photo realistic painting ideas! The next con I'm definitely booked for is ConBravo but I might be making some more appearances before than - we'll have to see!
