Ok so I've decided I need to work on my sketching ability first and foremost if I want to improve and so many people have been asking when I'm going to re-open commissions (though you all tend to dissapear when I open them :glare: lol j/k) So I'm going to combine the two and open up 10 slots of really really cheap sketch/chibi comissions. How cheap you ask? Well, I'm thinking $5 cheap. Yeah that's right five DOLLARS US - that's like - £2 for me but that's ok because it's more about stretching myself than actually making money. I'm hopeing to be doing one of these every couple of nights and logging some time on livestream too so I'll be announcing when I'm working on them so that maybe you can watch your sketch being done! So I'm going to open up 10 slots. What can you get? Well I'll give you a couple of options and it really depends on how I'm influenced as well but here are some examples:

Sketch:
It will probably be more digital than pencil because I want to improve with my tablet but it will be something like below (obviously not on lined paper) and I will probably throw some sort of texture or colour on it to make it interesting:


Chibi:
Chibis will be simple but I will colour them digitally.

Well here we are folks, on the brink of another new year! Things have been pretty crazy for the past 4 months and it finally caught up with all of us over the holidays - we all got very very sick for about 2 weeks to the point where we had to take Aidan to the hospital and get him on antibiotics to clear a throat infection - he still has a cold but thank goodness he's back to himself. I'm still battling the sniffles as well so anyways, the only New Years resolutions I'm goign to make is to slow down a bit, not take on so much to do/go/say etc. The baby is due in less than 3 months and I'm starting to really feel it so I need to take it easy. That being said I feel like I've got a lot more work to do on my art to try and improve my digital painting skills and I'm looking forward to it - I like how much I've acomplished the past year with my tablet (I plan on doing one of those 2009 lookback things when I get the chance) so hopefully it's upwards and onwards from here!

Anyways, I hope all your christmas/holidays were a bit healthier than mine XD Man did I get spoilt though, I think I had more under the tree than my son XD Among them was the Death Note box set so I'm currently reading book 10 - what a great concept! Also, I got a huge book on drawing anime/manga with all sorts of awesome tips for photoshop in the back. I got a Disney Wooden carved statue of Snow White and she's so beautiful, a new purse, new hat,scarf and gloves. Les Miserables on DVD, Tomb Raider Aniversary for the Wii and Mario Brothers Wii (which I have been playing nearly none stop XD , tons of chocolate, a new house coat and slippers, a really comfy sweater and some granny panties (I asked for them, they're so comfortable), plus tons of little things ^^ And on top of all that I got some christmas art from you guys as well - check out my shout board for all the awesome gift art XD

A lovely milestone to usher me into the new year was my 500th watcher - congradulations to who's going to get a little gift art from me ^^ And thank you to everyone who has watched me or faved some of my work lately as always, it is much appreciated!

So I just wanted to say Happy New Years to you all and I hope it starts off well for you. And I look forward to spending the next year wtih all of you!!

Hey everybody just a small update to with you all Happy Holidays just incase I don't get to update again before that. I am sooo excited about the Secret Santa I'm working on - because it's not a commission I'm getting to play around with all these different techniques and so far I'm really happy with it!! I wish I could show you guys a wip!! I also have two new linarts that I scanned yesterday and about 4 pictures to finish colouring XD XD I think I'm getting a bit quicker at digital colouring which is good with my limited time frame. I have one more picture to finish after secret santa and then I will be opening commissions to try and pay back some of our Christmas debt. Especially since my print sale wasn't so much of a success... -_-;; *fail*

But I shall not complain - I'll just have to get better ^^ I recently picked up the first issue of Digital Artist magazine - which let me tell you is pretty darn awesome and I intend on getting a subscription - I has load of articles, awesome art, tutorials, tips, reviews plus a disc at the back with an hour and a half of tutorials, brushes, textures etc. If you're looking for some inspiration pick it up - seriously. Umm.. that's all I have to say for now - my Dad is arriving from Canada tomorrow morning *waahh.. I have to get up at 4:30am to pick him up from the airport* but I'm glad he could get over for a short visit because we probably won't see him again until the spring when the new baby comes ^^

Oh and my mum bought herself a new laptop for chrismtas/her birthday in january and I'm sooo jealous!!! It's a toshiba and it's sooo shiney and new and it would run all my programs without crashing and it has a working SCREEN (unlike my current franken-laptop I'm using... *sigh*) but alas I am poor and I don't think even dear old santa will be putting it under the tree for me this year - but that's ok I know I'm going to get tons of good stuff - more than I probably deserve anyways XD. Ok I'm rambling on now so I'll go - luv you guys and have a wonderful time with your loved ones this holiday!
